I have been a fiber artist for over forty years. I care passionately about the environment and have always looked for ways to recycle and reuse items. I utilize all parts of a sweater to reduce the amount of waste that may have to go to the landfill. Wool sweaters are purchased from thrift stores and brought home where the washing machine agitates the sweaters, causing them to felt. Then the sweaters are cut to create pot holders, frying-pan handle covers, wristlets, hats and eyeglass cases.
