KIM NAGY - NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER
Photography: What matters most? Is it vision, composition, perspective or lighting? Who defines the relationship between photographer and photograph?
What can photography teach? Why do I spend nearly every weekend on various expeditions, often getting up in the dark to arrive at some destination, looking for Spring migrants, puffins, foxes and others, or pursuing Snowy Owls in the 2014 Polar Vortex, freezing in place and waiting for a take-off shot while a Snowy Owl enjoys the winter sun, sitting high in a tree, sometimes for hours?
It is about focus. The more time I spend concentrating on nature and wildlife, the less time I focus on things I used to think were so important, before I spotted that animal or bird, and saw life in a different way, through a lens.
